The CATALOGUING AND STUDY OF FRANCISCAN, SPANISH AND IBERO-AMERICAN TRANSLATIONS project began on 01/01/2009 and ended on 31/12/2011, reaching an important degree of scientific information, and producing the following results in its conclusion:

Catalogued data:

785 Franciscan authors, 84 non-Franciscan reference authors, 1507 works by Franciscan authors, and 120 works by authors related to Franciscans.

The catalogue can be accessed via internet and through this portal, as its database is constantly evolving and controlled by our research group.

Study of translations:

The work carried out by both the scientific team and the work team can be accessed online through this portal in the majority of cases (some publications only exist in paper form), covering important aspects in the fields of history and translation theory.

Studies about the incidence of Franciscan translation have been carried out and published in various languages: Latin (Zarandona), Arabic (Bueno), Berber (Bueno), French (Pérez), English (Cámara), German (Cuéllar), American Indian languages (García-Medall and Acero), Catalan (Boadas, Lozano and Valero), Valencian (Aniorte and Escartí), Chinese (Ku), Polish (Orzeszek), Czech (Králová).

Many topics have been explored, such as translation in the American mission (Bastin, Zamora, Ku, Coronado and Miguel Ángel Vega), the African mission (Zarandona), the mission in the Holy Land (Behiels), the mission in the Maghreb and the Middle East (Bueno), evangelisation in Europe (Orzeszek), female cloistered life (Cuéllar), the translation of spirituality (Marquant), literary translation (Moreno), audiovisual translation (Mallo), the translation of catechetical texts (Zamora), travel books (Alonso de Val, Terrón, Srisongkran and Ku), the educative value of translation (Revuelta), the work of mission schools (Bueno), the Inquisition and ecclesiastical control (Pérez, Zamora and Bueno), anthropological translation (Coronado), patriotism in translation (Bueno), and music (Daniel Vega).
